We have recognized people with medals since the start of WaW. Recognition from superior skill, courage, and valor on the battlefield to contributions to strategy, training, and administrative efforts have been awarded. WaW has offered medals to tournament contributions such as map making, creating special game features, and administration. These medals represent important achievements which are keeping WaW the successful tournament that it is.

There is another contribution that has made all of this very, very real. Those silent contributions need recognition. It is to those people who are donating their hard earned money to keep the servers running so we can enjoy our gaming community. Now, their contributions will be given permanency with the award of medals.

Many contributors have been giving what they can, when they can. We have had people contribute every month, every few months, or whenever. Therefore we will offer these medals to represent contributions given over a period of time. That period of time will be 6 months. Since the servers run all year, regardless of an active campaign, it is simply set to the calendar. That is 2 periods per year: January 1 to June 30 and July 1 to December 31.

Donator Medal Awards

		Platinum Donator Award Given to those who generously donate $80 to the tournament in a six month period, (periods starting from January 1 and July 1).
		Gold Donator Award Given to those who generously donate $60 to the tournament in a six month period, (periods starting from January 1 and July 1).
		Silver Donator Award Given to those who generously donate $40 to the tournament in a six month period, (periods starting from January 1 and July 1).
		Bronze Donator Award Given to those who generously donate $20 to the tournament in a six month period, (periods starting from January 1 and July 1).

WaW needs the assistance of the community in order to keep our game servers operational and our forums hosted. WaW utilizes a dedicated server which allows us to run multiple game servers and special features including our own TeamSpeak 3 server as well as tools to assist the development community. The server provides a stable platform for us to battle on. We need donations from the community to keep the servers running.

Thanks to Wir3tap for the subsidy during lean times, but that cannot continue. Anything you can provide will help whether it be $2 or $20. We are currently accepting donations via PayPal and you can donate through the donate link below. A PayPal account is not required to contribute; credit cards of several companies are accepted.

To get recognition of your contribution, please be logged into the forums while making it. If you are not logged into the forums while making the contribution, you will see the donation made by Anonymous. If you want to change your recognition status, (to either your name listed or Anonymous listed), please PM Wir3tap or Melvin to update the records.

Now is a good time to say Thank You to all our donators. We've been taking donations for about 2 years, now.

Without the many people who have funded our servers, present and past, we would have nothing. For a time before public donations, we had a "sugar daddy". He quietly kept things funded without ever a public word claiming credit. That person was York.

Today, we have dozens of good people who contribute and some contribute on a regular basis. We honor every one of them. We created the Donator Awards for people who make a minimum donation so they can to wear the medal under their Avatar in every post. Each six months or so, we highlight those people as seen in the posts above.

All donations (and cost payments) are shown in the top post of this thread. We have had single donations ranging from $2 to $200 and everything in between. It is all good. We know there is more to contributions at WaW, like our past and present Graphics, Mod, and Mapping teams, but donations keep the equipment available to all of us.

For most of the month the donation goal was $300. Our monthly cost has not gone up. It is still $150 for the dedicated server. The server runs TeamSpeak, two FH2, three RO2, and one ARMA III game servers. It also runs other tools we use. We plan to put other games on it, not yet determined.

The goal has been returned to $150. We are half way to the goal. Please consider a contribution.

Much thanks to those that have contributed this year. You can see the List of Donators in the top post. The current WaW server fund Balance is there. Sometimes we have a surplus, but for now our Balance is exactly what has been donated this month, (that is, there is no surplus of funds).

An additional donators award has been added. This is the Special Avatar Award. Qualified contributors will be able to sport their own custom avatar to show up in every post. This is not a pre-defined WaW Avatar, but the creation of the donator! It may even be an animated GIF if meeting size and other rules.

Some people may have a problem with the Donation from some browsers. We've seen this with Firefox and Chrome, but it does not always happen; seems most with Firefox. If it does, you may see an error like this:

If you get that, then logout of the forums. Once logged out, then click the Donate button. It will register you as anonymous, but we can usually correlate the donation to a registered user. Or, just send me or Wir3tap a PM after your donation to make sure. Let us know the amount and approximate date and time of the donation. Also, if you wish to keep it anonymous, then send us a PM as soon as you can.
